Simplicity 8304...Cute Baby Girl Pattern
The first change was to line the bodice. I tried using the bias tape for the neck and arm holes, but it just wasn't coming out the way I wanted it to. I embroidered on the bodice, so the bias tape method left the armholes too bulky at the seams. I just think lining is easier and faster. I lined the bodice of each dress differently. The picture on the bottom (far right) shows each bodice lined differently. The dress on the left is lined using a method removing the 1 1/2" fold line. This method is only nice if you have contrasting fabrics. The method on the right is leaving the bodice pattern piece as is.. The 2nd change I made was to add elastic (about 1' down) to the pockets of the dress. I also thought the pockets were a bit too large, so I cut them smaller. I made view B top, but I still thought It was too long, so I took of 4" from the bottom. I don't like a lot of gather on an infant dress, so I removed about 8" from the skirt. So there you have the changes. Like I said, they were only minor. You can click here for my lining tutuorial.
