THE BAG
The yellow and black bag was made using Simplicity 1519 and instructions from a video I purchased from Craftsy "Design Your Own Hand Bag". I used leftover canvas fabric, vinyl, and goat skin.. The brown and black bag was made using instructions from a Craftsy video and some burried-deeply-in-my-brain creativity. I call them THE BAG.
Sometimes creating a bag can be frustrating for me, especially if I can't find the "right" hardware, and you most definitely need a decent sewing machine if you are going to sew with vinyl or leather. But what I like about creating one is you can customize it to your needs or wants. In both bags I put a zipper inside and out and added compartments for necessities. I also put pockets on the outside of each purse. The brown purse has a large pocket with a flap. I took me almost a year to find the right size twist lock for the brown and black bag because I didn't want to order one from overseas. I found the size I wanted at Joanne Fabrics...it was probably always there staring at me.
I will probably try my hand at making more bags and might even try selling a few.
