A Fleece and Knit Dog Snood...Sewn Using a Sewing Machine
I wanted to make a dog snood for my granddogger (AKA grandfur baby), but I could not find a pattern that wasn't for knitting. I don't know how to knit, so I had to create one. I got busy putting shapes together using my Brother ScanNCut machine. It took me awhile to get the right shape and size. I didn't have Shasta's measurements at the time, so it became a guessing game. I made the first snood using fleece with a cord inserted in the band to adjust the snood. That didn't work because she wouldn't sit still long enough for me to make any adjustments to the cord. So, it was back to the Brother ScanNCut to figure out a different design. I saw a few designs online but couldn't quite figure out the construction part. It took me a while to figure out how to construct it, and again I had to guess the measurements because I had not taken her (Shasta) measurements. Once I was satisfied with the design, I used knit fabric that had been in my stash for at least 6 years. I ended up sewing it three times to get the perfect fit. Her mom requested a neck warmer for Christmas and maybe pics with Santa, so I made two of them. Shasta is a 4-year-old Saluki, and the fit is perfect, and now she is ready for winter and the holidays!
